Freedom

Everyone should mark this down on your calendar as a great night out. I want to thank Gwynne Williams for putting the bands together and all the bands- especially my favorite The Hot Tarts, because I love them and I haven't seen them since they've been on the rounds this summer. All the money generated at the door will be going to NO on 1, the pro-gay marriage campaign that I've been a part of that has the difficult job of preventing outsider religious groups from taking down that very important law that Governor Baldacci passed last May allowing me to marry my husband in the state we grew up in. Please Come!

Iconic

In regards to SDCC and comic book conventions altogether, I figure that I need to make sure I can draw everything out there in the industry right now. So here goes, I'll start with Spiderman. As you might be able to tell, backgrounds are not my favorite. I must remember to go out this weekend and find a cityscape to draw. Ahh life! you have so much to do! Retain the fun everyone!

Shattershocker

This post is to commemorate the kiss that was shared by Rictor and Shatterstar in Peter David's righteous X-Factor. I'm glad that Rictor has finally grown into a character and I'm incredibly happy with the way that the X-books have treated their new gay characters. Rob Liefield who co-created Shatterstar was upset to hear about him being gay. Marvel has in turn answered that the character was work for hire and as such is property of Marvel to do with as seen fit. I can't believe that you'd actually get so upset about a character as to raise a stink about them being given more of an identity in a storyline. I wouldn't care if a character I created as being gay was later turned straight if I were in the same situation. Here's to Shatterstar and Rictor! I hope you guys have a happy life.

Jaye Drew

Just finished an album insert for my friend from high school for her upcoming cd release. She was great doing business with! Now I get to return to the comic book. The cd is called Moving Train and this is the story she told me squished into one image. The cd release party is at Empire on Aug. 15th!

OMG 4

I bet you guys think that I'm posting this old comic every day to get out of having to post every night! Well you are right! Hey! it's tough work! Got a gig doing a friend's album cover again-- sa weeet! The other reason I haven't gotten enough done was because I watched Dude Where's My Car? last night and fell asleep right after. It took so long for me to finally see that movie. Ahh HBO. Tv! it's the enemy! fight fight! oh I give up. Also I had a great talk with this dude tonight who asked me to go march for Health Care on July 18th in Monument Square in Portland, ME (where I live!) Fight! Fight! Fight for your rights!

OMG 3

Mark you are too kind. So again I didn't really explain but Bigfoot purchases a tiara at the drag sale and lo and behold it has an evil curse! The curse is an evil drag queen Honesty that makes fun of Bigfoot's boyfriend and causes him to cry!

OMG 2

So I didn't really explain this comic. Bigfoot and his boyfriend are just happy go lucky guys and the boyfriend wears cut offs and that's it. They live in a cave, but have ventured into town to do up some yard sales and meet this drag queen. This was a piece I did for Tim Fish, and after explaining it to Mark Ricketts, he made me promise to post it.

OMG

Almost a week later? what is wrong with me? I seriously don't know but it has to stop. It think some artists call it brainstorming and I have -- really I swept the attic clean of some stuff that has just been hanging out with me for way too long and I got rid of it! Cheers! Thanks! Yeah it's hard work to get rid of the clutter. I also spent way too much money and blame the dog and nature, but that's another story and guess what you gots to deal with life! Curveballs and all! I think it all means that I'm going to powerhouse through July and really work the networking bit that I've let slide since MAY! Time to cut the fat! That sounds terrifying and great at the same time. In the interest of Mark Ricketts over at www.moosemountaincomics.com I'm going to do what I told him I would and post a comic of Bigfoot as I get prepared to get uber-busy.
